CCTV App Not Working or Not Showing on Your Phone?

For systems that used to show on your phone and now don't. This is usually a router, Wi-Fi, port or app problem rather than a broken camera — exactly the kind of network fault I'm set up to trace.

When This Page Is For You

  • CCTV app won't connect
  • cameras not showing on your phone
  • remote viewing stopped after a router change
  • no live view away from home
  • app pairing / QR code won't work
  • works on Wi-Fi but not on mobile data

How I Diagnose It

  • check the recorder is online on the network
  • check router, Wi-Fi and IP settings
  • check ports, gateways and remote-viewing setup
  • re-pair the phone app and test live view
  • confirm viewing on both Wi-Fi and mobile data

FAQ

Common Questions

Why won't my CCTV show on my phone?

Usually the recorder has lost its route to the internet — most often after a router change, a Wi-Fi password change or an app update. The camera is normally fine; the path between it and your phone is the problem.

I changed my router and lost my CCTV — can you fix it?

Yes, this is one of the most common jobs. A new router means new network settings, so the recorder and app need reconnecting and the remote viewing re-establishing.

Why does it work at home but not when I'm out?

That points to a remote-access or port issue rather than the camera. It's a setup fix on the recorder and router, which I can sort during a visit.
